The next part of the business concept is your business description. The business description answers the following questions:

-How will financing help this business to grow?

Market Strategies

Now you'll focus on your marketplace.

Market Strategies will define your business environment. This information will come from the research that you do.

-What is the current and future demand for my product?
-Who would use my product and what need does it satisfy?
-How will I price, distribute, and sell my product?

Market Strategies-->Take some time to brainstorm and then write down your market strategies.

Market Competitive Analysis

The next focus of your marketplace is your competition. This section answers the questions:

-What are my competitors strengths and weaknesses?
-What competitive advantage does my product have over my competitors?
-How easy is it for competitors to enter this market?

Market Competitive Analysis-->Take some time to brainstorm and then write down your market competitive analysis.

Design and Development Plan

The next section is for the design and development of the product or service. This could be something that is new or an improvement of something that already exists. This section answers the questions:

-How will I design the product and what raw materials are used in my product?
-How will I structure my business around my product or concept?

Design and Development Plan-->Take some time to brainstorm and then write down your design and development plan.

Operations and Management Plan

The final part of the marketplace decision is the operations and management plan. This plan answers the questions:

-How will the business function on a daily basis?
-What are the job functions and responsibilies of each employee in the business?
-How will the business impact the local, state, and federal communities?

Finances

Finally you'll focus on your finances.

Your planning will involve financial factors. This plan has a focus for the current and future time frame. In the first year it produces monthly statements, in the second year it produces quarterly statements, and in years 3 to 10 it produces annual statements. Some data is historical and some is projected.

This plan provides the following statements:

-Income Statements (revenues and expenses)
-Cash-Flow Statements
-Balance Sheet

-Choose a state or region that is close to where you live. Look for areas that provide the free service funded by the US government SBA.

-At the SBDC sites you get free consultations and a lot of low cost or free services to build a new business. These sites are extremely valuable to help you to grow.
