Ecommerce Statistics To Understand Your Customers!

Ecommerce statistics allow the business owner to understand the effectiveness of the market for the business.

Statistics is the "...collection, analysis, interpretation or explanation, and presentation of data."

Small business forms collect survey information that allow you to analyze your customer's wants and needs. Data from the forms can be totaled and trends discovered to see what is important to one or more customer.

The data can be plotted on graphs and charts to look for patterns in the information.

Data can also be analyzed to observe average, minimum, and maximum values and how many times a certain data element is recorded.

The important thing is to store the fields of your forms into a database(db). Database software can then be used to view the statistics.

One example of data to collect are phone conversations with customers. Data to record would include the following:

-# of phone dials
-# of voicemails you leave
-# of conversations with completed calls
-# of appointments made
-# of consultations
-# of sales

Documenting these conversations with customers and business partners is important. This documentation can be reviewed afterwards to see how many of your calls it takes to produce a sale.

Your analysis of data can provide a snapshot of where your business is today and interpret your business future. However this information is only as good as the business data collected from customers on forms. It all starts and ends with the customer!
