Benchmark Business Training : For Coachable & Trainable People
Benchmark business training is where you learn how to run a business. A great mentor can make all the difference in your pursuit of business success. This mentor can help you establish benchmarks or standards for your business.
"It's very important for entrepreneurs to have a mentor...Starting a business is a lot easier when you have someone who's done it before and can walk you through the process"

"Choose your mentors wisely. Be careful from whom you take advice. If you want to go somewhere, it is best to find someone who has already been there."
Robert Kiyosaki, Cash Flow Quadrant, page 226
"A coach should broaden your perspective by "providing additional viewpoints, helping you look at situations as others might (and) asking new questions...""

It is important to have a mentor for your benchmark business training. This is someone who can coach and train you to succeed in your business. Successful people are open to wise instructions from coaches.
"...Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise..."
Proverbs 19:20 (New International Version)
The Importance of Coaching
In his book Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill discussed principles for attaining wealth in life. In chapter nine of his book Napoleon mentioned the principle of the power of the master mind group. The master mind group was defined as the "...coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose...". Hill cited the example of Henry Ford. In a 10 year period Ford became one of the richest men in America while being in the company of Thomas Edison, Harvey Firestone, John Burroughs, and Luther Burbank. These were all men of great distinction in their lines of business. They set a standard for a benchmark business training.
"You're supposed to have the answers. So where do you turn when you don't? You hire a coach."
Amy Barrett, "Can We Talk", BusinessWeek SmallBiz, February/March 2008, page 74
What are the types of coaching?
1. One-on-One Coaching-->This is a expert who specializes in business and working with entrepreneurs for their benchmark business training. She works directly with you and your challenges. This type of coaching can be expensive. Have a clear understanding between the two of you of what to expect.
2. Peer Coaching-->This is where you meet in a group setting with other entrepreneurs and business owners. A facilitator leads the group. Each of the participants shares their challenges. Peer pressure is the motivating factor in the exchanges. The accountability of the peer pressure brings results.
3. Speed Coaching-->This is where experts in many fields are gathered at one location. You, the participant has a short period of time to share your concerns and get feedback. Taking good notes is critical in this type of coaching.
So have you seeked out a coach, mentor, or trainer for the field of business you desire? A great concept is only as good as your development of that concept into an idea. Find someone who you can model or copy. Then spend quality time with that person and be teachable and coachable.
Learn what works.
"...learn to lead people..."
Robert Kiyosaki, Cash Flow Quadrant, page 77
Who is Your Mentor?
Whatever your age...
"...You don't have to be 30 or 40 to start a business..."
Tonya Groover, "City Teens Find Business Success", NewsMax, October 2007, by Dan Weil, page 26
...be coachable and trainable and seek a mentor who's been where you want to go!
"...the key to being successful is to find good mentors and follow their example."
Thomas Heath, "Value Added, The Recipe For Wealth", The Washington Post, Monday, March 17, 2008, page D3
